Privacy

Last updated: 31 August 2026

This site uses no cookies and tracks nobody.

There are no scripts, no forms to fill in, no statistics, and no requests are made to third-party services. There’s no banner because there’s nothing to consent to.

Who the controller is

Massimo Togni, author of SparklingTones. The project is personal and non-profit. For anything at all, the channel is GitHub.

What happens when you open this page

The site is made of static files hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web server, GitHub’s records in its own technical logs the IP address, the browser type, the date and the page requested. This is used to deliver the pages and to defend against abuse.

That data doesn’t reach me and I don’t use it. The processing is GitHub’s, acting as infrastructure provider: its rules are in the GitHub privacy statement.

Cookies and tracking

None. In detail, this page and the main one do not contain:

Even the fonts are served from this same domain, not from Google Fonts or other external services: when you open the site your browser contacts no other server. This is a deliberate choice, not an accident.

Links to the outside

The pages contain a few links to GitHub and to the app. A link doesn’t trigger anything until you open it; from then on the rules of the site you arrived at apply, not these.

The SparklingTones app

The actual app lives at another address (mazzrelaz.github.io/SparklingTones) and works like this: there is no account and no server of mine. The preset library stays in your browser’s database, on your device, and is not sent anywhere.

The only feature that leaves the device is the Dropbox sync, and it’s optional: you turn it on, with your Dropbox credentials and an app key you register yourself. In that case the files end up in your Dropbox, under your control, and Dropbox’s terms apply. There too, they don’t pass through me.

Your rights

The European regulation (GDPR) gives you the right to access your personal data, correct it, delete it and object to its processing. Since no data of mine exists — I collect nothing and keep nothing — there’s nothing you need to ask me. For the server’s technical logs, the request should go to GitHub, through the channels given in their privacy statement.

If this page changes

If one day the site were to introduce something that collects data, this page would be updated first, and the date at the top would say so. The full history of changes is public in the site’s repository. The Italian version is the original.
